Here is the current orchard layout:
The orchard is growing in status, with most trees well above head height now. All trees have new wire protective fences, and the apple crop was the best ever this year.
We consulted orchard expert, Bob Lever, regarding pruning. He has confirmed a regime of care that will ensure healthy growth and cropping. The plums were disappointing this year: although there was plenty of blossom on most trees, this did not come to fruit.
We have placed insect houses around the orchard to help pollinators, and have planted spring bulbs to encourage insects early in the year.
