Open Day 2016

This was a wonderful day in July, which raised a magnificent £600 towards improvements to our Allotment site. Our plots looked at their very best, and people were able to relax by the wildflower meadow to enjoy home-made ice creams, cakes and allotment produce, & also a plant stall.

Many people enjoyed visiting our beautiful pond, where we had a fascinating range of exhibits collected from the water. In the Orchard, people had fun discovering a variety of local birds hidden in the trees in an Orchard Treasure Hunt!

We were pleased to welcome Scarecrow guru, Findlay Farmer, to judge our scarecrow competition – a display of tremendous creativity and imagination. There were a variety of children’s crafts, and also face painting, and games organised by the children.

Thank you to all who contributed!
